World of Wyldvir
Look, I still think Wild Magic is a horrid mechanic, but this at least is built around it
Genre: Fantasy
What is this game?: World of Wyldvir is a lite fantasy game, with a veer towards more
Page break
How's the gameplay?: Wyldvir uses a d20 system, but you also assign dies to your attributes, which you get to create yourself! You may also assign die to "Magic" which starts low, magic is new in this world after all. Character creation is snappy and quick, assign attributes, assign race (yeah not a fan of that part either), and choose where you're from, you get extra attributes from species and home state. The game also has a wild magic system, where fumbling spellcasting can lead to wacky events happening!
What's the setting (If any) like?: Wyldvir's setting is, predictably, actually a fairly large part of its branding and pitch, its a fairly deep and complex fantasy setting, where magic is a recent development, and people work around this new concept
What's the tone?: Wyldvir's setting generally leans itself into more youthful, chilled out fantasy, a bright world of adventure and newly discovered magic awaits the ones brave enough to find it!
Session length: 1-3 hours
Number of Players: 3-5
Malleability: Wyldvir's core mechanics aren't super tied into its setting, though a draw of the system is its own setting so YMMV
Resources: The game is simple enough to not need much beyond its character sheet
Why do I recommend this game: Wyldvir is a fun simple little game, its nothing grandiose but it doesn't really need to be to achieve its goals
