Indie TTRPG of the Week

Warrenguard

Warrenguard

So that HTTYD remake looks like shit huh? (It's apparently fine)

Genre: Fantasy

Touchstones: Dragonriders of Pern, Fate Accelerated, Belonging outside Belonging

What is this game?: Warrenguard is a game about playing a group of military

How's the gameplay?: Warrenguard combines FATE die with PBTA-inspired resolution mechanics, characters can fail, succeed, or succeed with style. The game itself has a fairly simple belonging outside belonging (yeah i know i'm using a lot of buzzwords but stick with me) inspired character creation where you're asked multiple questions about your character and need to answer. Additionally, players can choose or be randomly assigned a Dragon, which determines their stats in the game's action sequences

What's the setting (If any) like?: Warrenguard is set in a world where the Warrenguard, a faction of dragon riding warriors, solve many problems around the world, all powered by the magical Oracle Bell, which rings whenever there's trouble nearby

What's the tone?: Warrenguard's tone is generally laid back with action sequences generally being solving local issues vs solving global problems, still more complex stories can be told

Session length: 3-4 hours

Number of Players: 4-6 players

Malleability: Warrenguard's mechanics could proooobably be used for anything involving flying dragons

Resources: None right now, its a VERY new game!

I backed this game, and I really like it! its a solid system with solid lore and worldbuilding
