things i don't like very much i guess.
oh shit, I need to make a post for the blog OK so I guess here is like some things I don’t really like I guess
uhh
1: cracker island
Yeah, everyone like talks about how it’s a return to basics for Gorillaz. This is a gorillaz album by the way. And like I don’t know I just don’t like it. It felt a bit generic. Like in the totality of their work, it just kinda felt like, it was weird. uhhh. it felt like they were trying to do a return to basics but at the same time like try something new it doesn’t really work out. There’s some songs I think are really good but it’s just like not at the level of their other stuff and I think when the mountain came out, and that was like weird and experimental and shit it kind of really gratified me a bit because that one was just like so bizarre that it never that it kind of validated my point that Cracker Island is kind of bad it’s still stupid good actually it’s just it’s it’s sort of like the dark souls 2 of Gorillaz for any other band this would be like a top five album, but for Gorillaz its kind of bad
2: couscous
couscous, I just don’t like it I mean, like all of my childhood as you know a Brazilian lady it kind of got forced into me and I never liked it. even as a kid, ok as a kid I thought it was fine but as I grew up it just started to like. It tasted a bit weird for me and eventually, uhhh, I think there was a point where I threw up because I just had a particularly bad couscous. Its technically traditional food where I'm from and you know I think the vegans got really into it so sound off in the comments if you’re a vegan and you like couscous, I guess? I don’t know. I just don’t think it’s like the best food that came out of this region and if you have a ton of corn, there’s better dishes to make is what I’m trying to say
3: galacta: daughter of galactus
this one is probably gonna be like the least controversial one if you’ve read it. Consider it like how I make fun of FATAL or 5e every so often. You know I can’t be hot takes 24/7 uhhh Galacta daughter of Galactus is like a one shot, its technically set in its own universe. It was originally gonna be in 616 but It got retconned because I think what happened was that Marvel editorial just didn’t want to have something as weighty as there’s two Galactuses. Galacti? Galacteese? They didn’t want multiple planet consuming beings in the world and by the end of that one there were two and Galacta was pregnant with a third one and I think It was just like too much. sorry I’m getting off track. The reason I don’t really like it. It’s just that it really leans into kind of sexist stereotypes against teen women like the whole joke of the comic is that like oh teen girls they get on a diet and then they complain about being hungry all the time and it’s like man. It’s really annoying. I don’t know. People started liking her when she got into Marvel rivals as the announcer. I think she’s OK there but I think as an actual character she’s very very mean spirited in a way that even characters that I do like that are arguably stereotypes like Nico Minoru or Magik. they still are mean spirited, but they feel like they have something beyond the mean spiritedness idk i don’t like her.
