Hardcaptor Sakuga: Fullmetal Petticoat
Hardcaptor Sakuga: Fullmetal Petticoat
What if we could make Actually Good magical girl deconstructions?
Genre: Magical Girl
Touchstones: Madoka Magic, Sailor Nothing arguably
What is this game?: Hardcaptor Sakuga is... a deconstruction of a deconstruction, really, its taking that kinda Madoka Magic/Sailor Nothing style of magical girl and creating a universe where the horrors are the same, but the girls are still optimistic and scrappy

How's the gameplay?: HCSFP uses a dice rolling system where you roll a number of D6 equal to your skill in a trait, the GM then rolls a number of Die equal to the task's difficulty, if the Player has more successes than the GM has failures (Defined as a die below 5), they pass, if they have less successes than the GM has failures, they fail! Character creation consists of picking a concept, traits, impulses which determine your goals, bonds which determine your friendships, Archetype/Archetype Talents which determine your actions, and Talents which are misc abilities. The game is in that sort of WOD spot of fairly complex, but still pretty simple at its core, though in my personal opinion it does it more interestingly than those games
What's the setting (If any) like?: HSFMP's setting is mostly player created, but its assumed the players are magical girls fighting against horrors beyond human comprehension
What's the tone?: Hopeful, you stand in your frilly pink outfits and you fight against creatures beyond your comprehension, and within all this you remain stalwart in your belief in friendship
Number of Players: 3-5 players would be a good number
Malleability: As long as its magical girl and it fits the tone it should work!
Resources: None, really, but the system is faaaairly simple, so a google doc should suffice
Why I recommend this game: While unfinished, and likely abandoned, this game cemented itself as one of my favorite magical girl re imaginings out there, and that's... ok it's admittedly a low bar, but its a bar!
